April Showers Bring May Flower

I dont know about you, but this amazing weather in Kingston has gotten me very excited for the up coming mounths. Not only am I almost done school but this cold weather is finally turning warm!

In my last post, its obvious, that I'm quite excited for spring. So I put together some outfits to hopefully get you inspired for some warmer outfits!
I will start from the Top left and work my way around. The first is a Burberry Umbrella, there is nothing better then a reliable umbrella on a rainy day. The next is the rain jacket or the Barbour Jacket. Im a huge fan of these jackets and you can find a variety of their styles on the JCREW website.
Starting from the left with rain boots are the yellow Celine Rainboot, the army green Loeffler Randall bootie rain boot, and the tall black Jeffrey Cambell rain boots (which I have my eyes on).
In the May section starting from the top is an Alice and Olivia white blazer, then a Rebecca Taylor corset-like top (which also comes in a black/purple), then we have the Marc Jacobs high waisted shorts. These classic black shorts with a bow can be dressed up and down or even worn with tights in the winter. Great addition to anyones closet!
For May shoes we have a Prada wedge. I love these, and wedges are so much more comfortable then heels! To add some more colour I chose a Dolce Vita red pump. And to flatten it out I chose a nude Chloe gladiator.

Looking at all the spring and summer clothes got me excited for some time off and some warm weather!
Its almost time to basQue in the sun!

Spring 2011

Thank goodness - the shows have arrived and the fashion can begin.

As I make my way through another semester and another brutal winter in Kingston Ontario, spring fashion could not come soon enough.
Spring is probably my favourite season - weather wise, and fashion wise. I cant wait till I can wear a dress or high waisted shorts without tights!

Trends I've noticed thus far:
COLOUR! YAY, I've been noticing alot of purple which is good, because I recently made the decision to buy more purple clothing.

Marc Jacobs has a very interesting collection, lots of detail and bows, very out there and fun!

Diane Von Furstenberg said the season was a time for: "Midi-length dresses, slim pants and billowy tops harmonize with cool, sporty separates. Bold ribbons, waves and clouds in colors"

and Dior brought all these things! Colour, fabric, texture

All designers did an amazing job this season with bringing out the bold and the beautiful and allowing us to get excited for the upcoming season! Here are a couple of my favourites!

This season is not about blendng in - but standing out! I cant wait to finish with the snow and welcome in the beautiful colours of spring! (Through the clothes and the weather!)

Thanks Ralph, for the 4D Experience

Heres a cool link that was brought to my attention...
Ralph Lauren did the first ever 4D fashion show, and he did a pretty good job.

The show is 10 minutes and the visuals are stunningly beautiful.
The project was rumoured to have cost millions and took place in New York and London

The show was in tribute to one decade of Ralph Lauren!
Congratulations on a great show and an amazing decade of fashion.

Let me know what you guys think?

ps. as a fun side not, remember the Friends episode with Ralph? To funny!

Toronto

I am still in toronto at the moment - the main blogging point for me will probably be kingston. But this is an exciting time with lots and lots of people to work with.

What trend should I start with? What trend should I work with in toronto?

I was thinking FUR. I wanted to pick something fun and versatile for my first project and I thought that it would fit perfectly with the season/weather.

I have been seeing it everywhere and I absolutely love it! To start of the trend spotting here are a couple of shots of fur in the main stream fashion industry....

Im off to hit the streets to see what toronto has to offer when it comes to fur!
Wish me luck!

First Post

Hello! and welcome!
This has been a much awaited adventure for me and I cant wait to get the show on the road.Working with templates/designs/logos to create a page that speaks to my readers.

Throughout my experimentation with blogging (this will be my first blog) I will begin by blogging about fashion, more specifically Trends. I will be look at upcoming trends and tracing them through YOU. I will not only be looking for trends from the people I see everyday, I will also be following fashion shows/magazines/celebrities to get a good understanding as to what is hot NOW.

But the most important thing about this blog is that I will be including trend spotting from people I see. Not only will the blog incorporate the exciting life of fashion, but it will also incorporate the exciting social life surrounding clothes and fashion.

Please be patient with me as I get things started. I'm hoping that it will be a matter of time before I have everything up and running and looking fantastic!

Enjoy, BASQUE IT IN
